stimulus, the cert given is clarify that you are one of the organising committee, although the value of the cert is not as much as other cert
but organising activity is not concern on that cert, it is more concern on gain more informal knowledge.
eg. futsal competition
- u need to know how to book the court (easy job for you i think)
- u need to advertise your competition so that ppl will know bout your comp
- u need to control the budget for every expences
- u need to plan the activity program so that the activity will run smoothly

so, when u step in to the company n u may say:
hi, i had organised the futsal comp, blah blah blah comp before. and i have ... years of the experience on organising activity
this will help you impress the interviwer that you are active in social activity rather than just active in acedemic field.

i strongly agree with Louis
wat we do to organise activity is to learn experience
can u buy your experience??
no is frm learning
so organise is important 2 learn
nt the cert

ya...
i also agree wif louis...
do u think its so easy just to plan an activity or program...???
it needs many procedures...
without a prefect plan...
it will ruined the whole activity or program...
so u can gained these experience from joining the Student Council Task Force and help us plan all the activities...

hahaha...ROFL,

Fine I agree that certs are important. but not these.. if you are a part of a committe, like really in the student council then when you organize an event, by all means you can brag about it in the interview, but if you are just someone who was just picked to do so and not part of a committee then i think its kinda worthless. PLUS in an interview, a few certs is enough to establish your personality, you dont need a bible full of em, If u got a tone of certs, saying ur a leader here, attened this, organize sumting,... its all fine and dandy....BUT.. when you open your mouth and talk, your choise of vocabulary and the way u put a sentence togther, your body language is not up to the standards of the certs, it will be worst because perhapes mayb they'ell be thinking you forged the certs.

so wake and smell the coffee its not all about the certs plus its just a futsal competition only, its not the world cup why do u need a task force for ? Maximum 2 ppl can 9tim everythingliao.

i think u din noe the details on student council
but u oso hv a wrong assumtion d
wat u think nt reali the truth
if u hv experience on organising event
that i help u on ur development in personality
interview is nt jz 2 c ur cert
if onli c ur cert
then u noe nid go d
jz send ur cert go
interview is 2 test &evaluate ur personality sumore experience
when u hv knowledge all organising activity
mean u can sell urself better nt jz ur cert
but ur PERSONALITY ur moves ur speaks
this can be learn in activity of Student Council
so u initially hv wrong IMPRESSION 2 student council activity
so all u did is jz critic
try 2 think other way
mayb u wil c other view of Student council

Enlighten me how do you get confidence to speak from joinning this task force ?

And excuse me, I used the fustsal example just because the Admin. guy 'Louise' used it as an example in is replay to 'stimulus' which is why i said 2 people is enough to organize it. Since when did I say anything about the prom night ? moreover there is no mention of prom night anywhere in this thread except for when you replied me. So i strongly suggest you read the entire post or thread of that matter and get your facts right before you decide to reply someone.

Okay, after reading your reply I have come to the conclusion that you did not understand me. Right of the bat i was not supporting certs, that is why i said "a few certs is enough to establish your personality, you dont need a bible full of em"

And then i futher supported my point by saying "If u got a tone of certs, saying ur a leader here, attened this, organize sumting,... its all fine and dandy....BUT.. when you open your mouth and talk, your choise of vocabulary and the way u put a sentence togther, your body language is not up to the standards of the certs, it will be worst because perhapes mayb they'ell be thinking you forged the certs"

so do you understand now ? or do you still want me to explaine further ??

Yess, Iam certain you will gain a lil experince when you are organizing stuff. BUT how am i gona sell myself better ? my moves ? my speach ? porsonality ? unless your gona put each and every task force member through intensive self-improvements camps where ppl pay thoudsands for outside.

i dont noe how large is the psdc night, cause i din join it b4
but as former training camp chairman
i got a total of 12 committee, n about 150 participants
the committee bz at all the time
the committee cant concerntrate on 1 job
they nid to do until big headed

as i noe, the camp nid:-
chairman
vice-chairman
secretary
treasurer
program master
training-master
refreshment
chief inspector
field maintainence
prize & souvenir
station leader
photographer
security officer
quatermaster

a simple camp is nid so much posts, so i tink the night will be larger than the camp, i tink 15 committees are not enough to run the event smoothly.

well speaking for experince iam very certain the 15 people is enough to oganize a prom night that is only a few hours long. Unless of course your people no quality ler then of course you need alot, or maybe you guys wana create post just for the sake of filling them than surely 15 people in not enough because i really dont see the point for alot of people. basically, you need...

1 person to liaise with the hotel/vanue staff.
1 person to handle all the paper work,
2 people to handle marketing the event.
1 person to keep track of acounts
1 or 2 person to the the master of ceramonies
5 people to be at the site to coordiante stuff

so yeah there that is enough to get the job done already, and all the above can also do other task like making deco. and what so ever.
